People Profession 2022

Criticaleye Partner Workday – alongside the CIPD (The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development) published the annual People Profession report which surveyed professionals about their careers and working lives to better understand how they have been affected by the prolonged effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tight labour market conditions and the cost-of-living crisis.

Key takeaways include:
  • Nearly a quarter (24%) of working adults are combining homeworking and travelling to work (hybrid working) although there is a disparity among workers, with higher earners more likely to work in this way than lower earners.
  • In 2022, 61% in the UK and 72% in Ireland said that they have either upskilled or reskilled within the last year.
  • In Ireland, only two-thirds of people professionals felt that their success is recognised by business leaders (67%) and has an important impact on the organisation (69%) – in contrast the UK figures were lower at 57% and 58%.
