Robert is Non-executive Director of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust; Chairman of the Advisory Board at North East Finance Ltd, a £125 million European VC fund and Non-executive Director of Ploughshare Innovation Ltd, an MoD company that licenses and spins out military research technology.
Robert was formerly Chairman and Member of the Audit Committee for Acta S.p.A, an AIM-listed Italian catalyst and renewable energy business.
Robert has substantial board experience in several sectors after a career in private equity and venture capital. Previously, he was Managing Director of NatWest Ventures Ltd, Chief Executive Officer of Grosvenor Development Capital Plc, and Deputy Chairman of Electra Kingsway Ltd and a Regional Director of 3i Plc.
Robert sat on the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA) committee for six years and became Chairman in 1992/93.
Robert is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Member of the Securities Institute.
