How Power Laws May Shape the Face of Corporate Strategy


The problem with so much of the ‘novelty’ in business strategy is that it is nothing of the sort! Take, for example, ‘Blue Ocean Strategy’; are you sailing into blue oceans? And if not, why not?

A close look quickly reveals that here there is nothing new – at least no major paradigm shift in strategising. It is, at best, old wines in new bottles. But, struggling to cope as they are with the overwhelming challenge of complexity, paradigm shift is certainly what executives need. EBS' Wolfgang Amann and colleagues explore these issues in this Review article.
