Chris Allner

Chairman of the Investment Committee

Chris is the Chairman of the Investment Committee for all investments made by the ventures team at Octopus, including the Octopus Capital for Enterprise fund. This role includes early involvement in evaluation of potential investee companies through to the approval stage, also ensuring due consideration is given to a post-investment action plan and top down portfolio management with a view to maximizing the returns that are generated. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the venture capital and private equity industry, covering early stage investment through to later stage growth capital and buy-outs. Prior to joining Octopus he was a Director of ProVen and Bridgepoint, as well as working for Charterhouse and 3i. Chris is on the Boards of The Kendal Group, First Retail (The FitCo), Promotion Space and BDA International. He was also on the Boards of Covion, Plastics Capital and Gyro International prior to their exits.
