Winning in the Tech Revolution

Authored by Marc Barber, Director of Content, Criticaleye

A new generation of technology is set to radically change what it means to build a successful enterprise. Rachel Barton, Managing Director at Accenture Strategy, talks to Marc Barber about how senior leaders and boards need to respond.

Key points include:

  • According to research by Accenture, 41 percent of the S&P’s consumer-centric companies have either been acquired or gone out of business since the turn of the century.
  • A lot of boards and organisations look at technology and try and work out what problem it will help them solve rather than stepping back to think through their longer-term strategy.
  • Leaders can only be the best at what thay do if they look outside of their own organisations.
  • Business leaders must think about how to connect organisations together in a way that they haven’t really architected yet.
