When countries go bad...

2011 has brought a wave of civil unrest across the globe. Tunisia, Egypt, and Yemen have seen mass up risings against their long-term rulers. A new war is being fought in Libya. Protests in Oman, Bahrain, Iran and Syria are gathering pace, and China’s government has cracked down on dissidents, reminding its citizens of its strength. Meanwhile, in Ivory Coast, their two presidents, one newly elected and one refusing to depart, battled it out.

If we ever needed a reminder that you cannot be certain what tomorrow will bring, this year has brought many of them.
