Since 2025, Chng Lay Chew has further expanded his non-executive portfolio through several high-profile appointments, including joining the boards of Singapore Post Ltd and NetLink NBN Management Pte Ltd (as trustee-manager of the SGX-listed Netlink NBN Trust) as an Independent Non-Executive Director. During the same year, he also became a Board Member of Credit Bureau (Singapore) Pte Ltd. These roles follow his 2023 appointment to the board of ISTARI Pte Ltd, a global cybersecurity firm.

Chng joined the Board of IREIT Global in 2021. IREIT Global is the first Singapore-listed real estate investment trust with an investment strategy principally focused on a portfolio of income-producing real estate in Europe. The company's portfolio has a total lettable area of approximately 384,000 sqm and a portfolio valuation of €889.7 million.

With over 40 years of experience in the financial industry, Chng retired from Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) after serving nine years as its Chief Financial Officer from 2011 to 2020. Prior to this, he spent over a decade at DBS Bank in senior roles, including Managing Director and CFO for Greater China. His early career included 16 years with JP Morgan, where he held senior positions across Singapore, Tokyo, and New York, as well as roles at Price Waterhouse Singapore and Hutchison, Hull & Co in New Zealand.
Chng has contributed significantly to the development of the accounting profession in Singapore. He was a Board Member of the Singapore Accountancy Commission, past President of the Singapore division of CPA Australia, and Chairman of the Singapore CFO Institute Advisory Council. He currently serves as a board member for the Worldwide Fund for Nature (Singapore) Ltd and has previously sat on the Advisory Board of the School of Accountancy at Singapore Management University.

In addition to his corporate roles, Chng serves on the board of AWWA Ltd, a social service agency, and NUHS Fund Ltd, where he chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. He was previously a Director for the Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore), the Baltic Exchange Ltd, and the Energy Market Company.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a Fellow of CPA Australia.
