Rob has held leadership positions as Chair, NED, and CEO across both public and private companies. Since the early stages of his career, he has specialised in the TMT sector. Appointed by the UK Government, he has served as Chair of the Met Office since 2018, a role he will relinquish this year after completing two terms. His experience includes over 10 years as Chief Executive Officer of STV Group plc. He was previously Commercial Director at Channel 4 Television, Managing Director with UBS Corporate Finance, and Lead Partner for Deloitte’s Telecoms, Media & Technology Industry Group in Europe.

 

Rob was also appointed Chair of Glasgow Caledonian University on 6 February 2018, a position he held until 28 February 2025. He is currently Chair of the listed marketing analytics provider Ebiquity plc. In this role, he oversaw the sale of technology company Blancco plc last year to US private equity.
