Catriona Schmolke CBE is an international business leader, honoured engineer and Non-Executive Director. Plural from 2020, her Board portfolio includes Private Equity, Regulated Utility, Government Research and Innovation and 3rd Sector. She is an experienced Chair and contributor to Audit & Risk, Health & Safety, Nominations and Remuneration Committees. She is recognised for her wealth of knowledge around strategic and organic growth, organisational transformation, ESG, post-acquisition integration, strategic change programmes, enterprise and project risk.

Catriona was appointed Non-executive Director at Scottish Water in November 2021, where she is also a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. Scottish Water provides all public water and sewerage services to over 2.5 million households and over 150,000 businesses.

She joined the Board of NPL Management Ltd in August 2022 as the NED responsible for Strategic Business Growth and as a member of the Audit & Risk Committee. NPL undertakes science and engineering to deliver extraordinary impact for the UK. From accelerating new antibiotics and more effective cancer treatments, to developing unhackable quantum communications and superfast 5G, NPL’s expertise is crucial in researching, developing and testing new products and processes.

Catriona exited her executive career in 2020 from NYSE listed JACOBS. Global Senior Vice President with 35 years in professional consultancy. She had worldwide Group accountability for the Operational Centers of Excellence for Procurement, Sales, Project Delivery, Quality Management, serving concurrently as Chief Safety, Security & Sustainability Officer. (2023, JACOBS revenues $15bn, 55,000 workforce and operates in 51 countries).

Chartered Engineer and one of 5 women in Scotland honoured with Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Her Operations career was predominantly in Europe and Middle East (EME) in environmental project delivery across multiple sectors including Nuclear, Mining, Utilities, Manufacturing, Petrochemical, Distilleries and Infrastructure. Operational leadership roles included; EME CEO of the Energy, Waste & Water Business and EME CEO of the Sustainability Consulting Business. 5 years as a Sales Executive for the Nuclear, Power and Environmental Regulation Sectors.

Catriona is also Vice President and a Trustee on the Board of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE). She is the CEO of, CharlieFive Ltd https://charliefive.co.uk/ delivering independent sustainability advice and executive mentoring and coaching. Catriona was appointed Visiting Professor of Sustainability at Newcastle University in 2021. She was awarded the CBE for services to engineering in the 2024 New Year's Honours List.

Married with three grown-up daughters, Catriona is based in Glasgow, Scotland.
