Jack is an Adjunc tProfessor of Management Practice at the Chinese European International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, China; Visiting Professor at the Moscow School of Management (Skolkovo) in Russia, and Emeritus Professor of Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at the International Management Development Institute (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
 
Jack has Swiss and American nationality.  His academic publications and areas of special interest include the role of unconscious processes in leadership and followership, group dynamics, and ideology.  Along with his academic work and organisational consultation, Jack is a practicing psychotherapist and a diploma candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich.  He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Academy of Management (AOM), the A.K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems (AKRI) and the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA).
 
Jack majored in Government at Colby College where he was U.S. Air Force Distinguished Military Graduate, Cadet Commander, ATO fraternity president, co-captain of the varsity soccer team and played varsity ice hockey. Following five years of active duty in the Air Force as an officer and pilot, he continued to fly for the Air National Guard while earning an MA in social psychology at Syracuse University, and an M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour at Yale University.  His doctoral dissertation was "A Theory of Small Group Structure" and combined field and multivariate statistical survey research, developing and refining methods for conceptualising ideology and its influence on the structure, dynamics, and leadership decision-making of small groups.
 
Jack is married with four children and lives in Shanghai.
