Richard has extensive executive experience at board and director levels in sectors including retail, property, construction, logistics, distribution and airports. His focus is currently on the Travel, Transport, Logistics and Telecoms sectors where he holds a variety of Non-executive and advisory posts working for large multinationals as well as a number of private organisations. He has also recently taken on the role of CEO at a digital identity start-up called ShowUp.

Additional positions include Board Advisor to Hitachi Consulting (formerly Celerant Consulting - a global consulting company), Advisor to ClickTravel (a travel management company) and a Criticaleye Board Mentor. Richard is also a Freeman of Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT).

Richard's last executive role was as CIO of BAA, the world’s largest commercial airport operator with eight UK and overseas airports at the time. The group also included Heathrow Express, World Duty Free, and Lynton property development. The UK operation managed 155 million airline passengers per annum and employed circa 12,000 staff. As CIO, he was responsible for the overall strategy and execution, managing annual cash spend of £150 million, 700 staff, a portfolio of outsourcing arrangements, and a forward investment program of circa £1 billion. Prior to this, he was IT and Technical Services Director at Wincanton, a provider of outsourced logistics and supply chain systems. During this time, he was also responsible for a number of senior policy roles at Unigate, their parent company. His earlier roles included directorships at Hunter Saphir plc and Trust House Forte plc.

Married with two daughters his social time is filled with musical theatre, playing golf and supporting Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
