Accenture Life Trends 2023

Leaving behind a year of uncertainty, worldwide political drama and a rising cost-of-living crisis, the landscape has never seemed so unsettled for businesses today. However, it's important that leaders attempt to regain a foothold against this backdrop. This annual Accenture report - newly rebranded 'Accenture Life Trends', discusses five trends that will alter the power dynamic between brands and people in the upcoming year.

The report calls for the development of reslience-based skills and the increased utilisation of technology, while placing heavy emphasis on the customer. Technology is seen as the best tool to help develop communal bonds with customers to support their brands as quickly as possible.

Key takeaways include:

  • A survey by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy revealed that 65 percent of therapists said that the cost-of-living crisis is impacting people’s mental health but despite the need for help, 47 percent of patients cancelled their sessions as they couldn’t afford them.
  • Accenture’s research found that people in emerging markets have much more experience in dealing with instability, and therefore have greater resilience.
  • Belonging to a community is a feeling people value, and technology is now enabling a new way to nurture communities in which people can connect and build something meaningful. It doesn’t replace in-person connection, it is simply another route.
