What is the future of ESG – regulation, risk or reward?

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) has become a necessity across all levels of a business today. Following from a webinar hosted by Louise Chaplin (Head of Board Practice), this report by Eton Bridge Partners explores how organisations can transform ESG responsibilities from a burden to a benefit.

Key takeaways include:

  • When asked how often ESG was discussed at board meeting, 52% of the webinar attendees replied it was on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis.
  • 47% of attendees viewed ESG as the board’s responsibility with Vanda Murray highlighting that senior leadership must be the driving force behind ESG targets.
  • When asked in a live poll to consider whether their organisation was overloaded by ESG reporting, just over two-thirds of the attendees agreed or strongly agreed.
