Robert Chong is currently Senior Advisor at Sembcorp Industries as of April 2026 and an active Board Member of SATA CommHealth. He is a senior corporate and people leader with deep Board-level experience across energy and utilities, infrastructure, and global conglomerates. He brings more than 30 years of senior management experience in human resources, organisational transformation, and a broad range of corporate functions supporting business growth.

Most recently, Robert served as Chief Corporate & HR Officer at Sembcorp Industries, following C-suite roles at Shangri-La Group, Keppel Corporation, Temasek Holdings, Shell and PepsiCo.

Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, leading human resource strategies and corporate functions that drive organisational growth and transformation.

Robert has extensive experience in organisational transformation, partnering with CEOs and leadership teams to reshape organisations and build capability aligned to strategic mission and performance outcomes. He also brings expertise in designing long-term, fit-for-purpose incentive and reward programmes underpinned by strong governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement across Boards, regulators, unions and employees.

He remains on Sembcorp’s joint venture Boards across South Asia, the Middle East and Singapore, and actively supports leaders as a coach to guide their development. At SATA CommHealth, he serves on the HRC and Tender Committee, and he also Chairs Senoko Energy’s Nominating and Remuneration Committee, where he is driving the implementation of balanced scorecards, reward frameworks and retention incentive plans.
