1. How important is it to develop future leaders?
Imagine the world, the nation, our companies and organisations without them. Read Ayn Rand's polemic ‘Atlas Shrugged’ to find out what such a world might be like. Developing future leaders is not an option, it is just about the most important thing our society and our businesses can do. But we should be sure to develop real leaders and not cardboard cut-outs with no backbone, courage or integrity. Recent events here in Britain - think about our bankers and our politicians - have served to underline this.
2. Why are you a part of Criticaleye?
Because Criticaleye presses all the buttons - intelligence, perspective, networking, access, shared views and values, good fellowship and a fresh approach to strategy and to organisational change and development.
3. Why is being a sounding board important?
Leaders can get lonely. They seldom wish to be lectured to, but they often appreciate someone who will listen. They should value wisdom and experience - it is all too often squandered these days in our fast-moving, impatient, performance-obsessed world. Those who pause for thought and have the maturity to draw on the support of a good sounding board, will always be the richer for it.
