  • The food and drink industry adds £21.9 billion to the UK economy. 
  • The food and Drink industry has around 7,000 companies employing 400,000 people – that’s more than half the population of Leicester. 
  • The industry will need 130,000 new recruits by 2024 in order to meet its needs – yet 27 per cent of its current workforce are from non-UK countries within the EU.
